IT Helpdesk Support Specialist

Yardstick Technologies Inc., one of Edmonton’s leading IT Solutions Providers, is looking for a committed individual to join its Helpdesk Support team. Yardstick offers competitive compensation and benefits as well as a friendly work environment.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Helpdesk support - assisting end users with trouble calls and resolving issues
  • Troubleshooting basic operating system problems (Windows XP, Windows 7, 2000, 98/95, NT)
  • Creating and tracking service tickets
  • Setting up workstations
  • Shipping / Receiving of product
  • Dispatching technicians
  • Maintaining client equipment
  • Provide on-site and depot desktop, notebook, and printer warranty/post-warranty repairs
  • Installing and configuring hardware options in servers, desktops, notebooks and printers (CDROM, hard drive, memory, sound card, NIC, array controller, sheet feeder, etc.)
  • Obtain hardware certifications as directed by Team Lead

Qualifications required include:

  • Minimum 2 years of related helpdesk experience
  • A+ certification required
  • Strong understanding of computers, with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot
  • Professional communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Neat and professional appearance
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Maintain a professional work area
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Candidate must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license for offsite support
